Overview
In conjunction with Etex, Sharpfibre installed a project specific solution comprising of Promat PROMATECT®-250, which is a non-combustible mineral bound light weight board that gives a high degree of strength and dimensional stability. It offered a quickly installed solution for the fire protection of the Mezzanine Floors and is suitable for areas of high humidity.
What we did
One challenge to overcome was how the perimeter of the fire rated ceilings interfaced with the existing steelwork and blockwork. Sharpfibre’s final installed solution demonstrated how passive fire protection can create both a decorative and functional solution, as well providing a high level of fire protection.
Promat PROMATECT© 250
Comprises autoclaved calcium silicate spheres bound in a mineral mix to form a solid board. One face is smooth and ready to form a finished surface and can receive almost any form of finish or treatment. PROMATECT© 250 is resistant to the effects of moisture and can give up to 120 minutes fire protection
