Testimonials

We have been privileged over the years to have worked with many clients. We are proud of the relationships we have built up, and are happy to share some of the comments they say about Sharpfibre.

The following is just a selection of clients. If you would like to add a testimonial, we would be happy to add your testimonial.  Please contact us here.

Sharpfibre’s involvement during the design development stage was invaluable in ensuring the buildings critical design performance requirements were fully satisfied and hence delivering the right solution to both the client and the construction team.

Paul Lynchehaun, Project Director, Laing O’Rourke

We have been working with Sharpfibre for nearly three years and have nothing but praise for their standard of work and the way they approach each project. The majority of our clients manage social and private residential blocks of flats, many of these are for residents with supported needs. Sharpfibre`s engineers have shown a high degree of respect for the specific needs of each home and their residents. Their workmanship is of a very high standard, clean and professional at all times.

I would highly recommend them for any project and any specific working environment.

Richard Gamble-Frost, QA Manager, Millwood Servicing

At City of London we are committed to improving the air quality in London. This involves many individual issues. One of our previous concerns was the use of spray applied cementitious fire protection on tall buildings. The application was considered fraught due to the potential hazards of small particle matter (PM2.5 and PM10) being released from the building works and having a negative effect on the air quality in the surrounding areas.

Sharpfibre understood our concerns and over a 12 month period prior to commencement of the works they put into place numerous application process alterations, including re-designing the method of encapsulation of the building to take this into account, whilst also incorporating dust suppression techniques throughout the operation. With a number of checks and balances put into place through the developer Canary Wharf Contractors, we gave our consent for the systems to be used, whilst also monitoring the air quality around the building.

We are very pleased to say that Sharpfibre has performed extremely well and has exceeded our expectations regarding the protection of the air quality. Air quality monitoring in the locality did not reveal any increase in fine particles (PM10) due to the application of the fire protection on site. Following this success, and providing the same control procedures are implemented, we are happy in principle for other buildings in The City of London to be fire protected in the same manner as 20 Fenchurch Street. Provided the same control measures are implemented.

Richard Lambert, Environmental Officer, City of London

It was clear that the challenges we faced at 20 Fenchurch Street needed a fire protection specialist whom we had utter confidence in to deliver.  20 Fenchurch Street is a unique structure both in its curved geometry and its location in the heart of the City of London

In order to provide a fire protection solution that could accommodate a fast track delivery programme and satisfy the stringent environmental rules imposed by the City of London Corporation for both air pollutants and dust, CWCL need to demonstrate to our client and his stakeholders that these issues were addressed. Key stakeholder engagement began almost two years before works began on site, carrying out trials and tests to ensure 100% compliance.  Once satisfied the challenges then remained on programme delivery and logistics.

The proactive approach of Sharpfibre’s team made the operation easy to manage from a main contractor’s position given the amount of other trades also working at the same time on this £240million development. The finish of the fire protection works met with our approval and was completed in February 2013 within the construction programme.

Richard Lines, Project Executive, Canary Wharf Contractors

Sharpfibre’s ability to provide a one stop-shop for fire protection, partitions and ceilings, offered the joint-venture value and benefit. Their involvement in changing the specifications for the fire protection and ceilings, coupled with a multi-skilled labour force proved invaluable to the project team.
