Sharpfibre awarded specialist insulation works at One Hyde Park, London - July 2009
Sharpfibre has begun work on London’s most luxurious addressed development – One Hyde Park. Located in Knightsbridge, this development designed by architect Richard Rogers, is set to be the most iconic work of architecture in recent times. The construction of 80 apartments and three exclusive boutiques within four pavilions will be created to form a unity between Knightsbridge and Hyde Park. Working for construction giant Laing O’Rourke, Sharpfibre will carry out the installation of 4,000m2 of specialist insulation materials throughout the building. Being able to resolve the projects high acoustic demands whilst at the same time ensuring that the proposed products delivered the thermal insulation requirements, meant that a combination or hybrid solution needed to be found. Working closely with the manufacturer, the design team and acoustic consultants ensured that the solution satisfied the design criteria but also one that could be installed to meet the high aesthetic demands of a project as high profile as this. Installation works will take 34 weeks to complete with the project due to be opened in summer 2010.
