When it comes to ensuring fire safety when designing a building, the importance of penetration sealing cannot be stressed highly enough.  Yet this is often an area that is overlooked when it comes to the installation of an effective fire protection system, with an unsuitable level of penetration sealing, or unsatisfactory work being carried out by non-specialist installers.

If there is not suitable fire stopping and penetration sealing in place, compartmentation can be compromised, which can lead to the spread of fire, smoke and toxic gases through the spaces found in walls, floors and partitions used to home services.

Fire barrier systems are slabs that are made from high density rock wool.  The exterior of the slabs has white, ablative coating which serves to stop fire from spreading through gaps in fire resistant floors or walls.  Our fire barriers are designed to deliver up to 4 hours fire protection and improved acoustic performance.

Fire compound systems are designed to provide a smoke and fire seal around service penetrations in floors and walls.  The gypsum based compounds are especially useful where loading of the penetration is required, with plant room floors and service risers being prime examples.

Intumescent Sealants are silicone or water based acrylic sealants that are used as a fire protection sealant.  As they adhere to must surface material types, intumescent sealants are very adaptable and offer 4 hours of protection from fire, toxic gases and smoke.
