Presenters Added To Understanding Passive Fire Protection Event

Additional presenters were added to the latest of ASFP’s regional seminars, strengthening an already excellent line-up.  Held at the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters in Cardiff on the 8th April, the Understand Passive Fire Protection event saw three new presentations.  

The first of the new speakers to take to the stage was Gareth Evans, Group Manager (South Wales Fire and Rescue Service) and CFOA Lead for Care and Healthcare, who gave a presentation on Enforcement of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.  

Next up was CEO of the Association for Specialist Fire Protection, Wilf Butcher, discussing Sources of information and training in passive fire protection.  Finally Katie Cornhill, Policy Support Officer for the Prevention, Protection and Road Safety Directorate of the Chief Fire Officer Association, closed the event with her presentation on UK business safety support week.  

The event, held in association with the British Woodworking Federation (BWF), Chief Fire Officers Association and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, covered all aspects of passive fire protection, including specification, installation, maintenance and inspection.  

Further seminars are planned in the coming months, with one scheduled to be held on 26th June in Glasgow and another on 8th July in Bradford.  Additional events are also expected to be held in Birmingham, Belfast and Dublin.
